It's been one of the most talked about - yet not talked about enough - cases in the Ark-La-Tex region: The disappearance seemingly into thin air of the then 4-year old Rondreiz Cortez "Junior" Cortez from Howard Road on April 5, 2018.

"It screams at you... find me," said Dennis Butcher, director of the Claiborne Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness. The director told a local TV station: "It weighs on you every day. We really thought we would find the child relatively quick."

Police have conducted an exhaustive search, but Butcher says that normal detective work is more difficult since little Junior went missing in one of the most rural parts of Claiborne Parish. However, it is because the area is so rural that investigators suspect foul play, since it is not an area outsiders often visit.

"It's just as if the earth swallowed him up and he's gone," Butcher added. "We haven't found him yet."

The FBI also seem to have no clear leads, but they obviously may not be sharing every piece of information with the public for investigative reasons. What is known, however, is that Junior is still missing, and his family, friends and neighbors are still devastated. Police have used drones, physical searches, cell phone pings, cameras and many other investigative techniques in the search.

A $10,000 reward is being offered in the case. Please contact the Claiborne Parish sheriff's office or the FBI if you have any information about the whereabouts of this beautiful young child.

We are continuing the search efforts today please share this video.
