Bossier Parish is ready to take care of schools.

That's the message sent today by the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department in a photocall introducing the 2019-2020 Bossier Parish School Resource Officers.

Nearly 50 deputies serve as SROs in Bossier Parish, and Sheriff Julian Whittington was proud to introduce them to the community and the Bossier Parish school campuses.

Parents can be assured that these officers are highly trained and certified law enforcement officers.

In fact, Bossier Parish is unique in that there is only one other parish (Rapides) in the state of Louisiana, which has officers serving at every campus in the district.

Sheriff Whittington said: "Public safety remains our top priority, and having a well-trained, fully-capable SRO assigned to all of our schools is so important.”

Whittington said he was thankful to Superintendent Downey parents and residents of Bossier Parish who are allowing the officers to serve along with teacher and faculty at every school in Bossier Parish.
