A World War II veteran who helped Ark-La-Tex retirees at Barksdale during 38 years of service in the US Army will have a celebration in his honor on July 19.

Retired Col. Steven dePyssler, the Barksdale Air Force Base Retiree Affairs Office director, will turn 100 years old July 19, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. 

Col. dePyssler served in World War II, the Korean War, the French Indo-China War, the Bay of Pigs Invasion, and the Vietnam War.

His life and legacy of 38 years of service in the United States Army Air Corps and the Air Force will be celebrated at the Bossier Civic Center July 19.
