The City of Tyler Texas has announced the Faulkner Park Sprayground splash pad will be closed for repairs on Thursday, August 1.

The free seasonal splash pad and water play area is scheduled to reopen on Friday, August 2.

"A pressure regulator will be installed to lower the pressure of the water going through the pipes and prevent pipes from bursting in the future," the City of Tyler announced.

This proactive measure by the City of Tyler is a wise choice, which can actually save the city money by reducing the chances of a potential future water pressure event.

Faulkner Park opened in April of 2001 and features a tennis complex, baseball fields, a nature trail, and a fishing pond.

The playground and the Sprayground offer a dedicated play space for supervised children. Pavilion, picnic areas, and restrooms are also available.
