Doing well on the ACT is a must for students wanting to get into a top college or even get a scholarship.

Now, Southern Arkansas University is leading the way for students preparing for the next important step in education. A total of 58 area high school students attended the annual ACT Prep Academy at SAU June 10-13, 2019.

The Academy gives students the confidence needed to "attack" the exam, said Dr. Roger Guevara, director of the Education Renewal Zone (ERZ) at SAU.

The Academy not only exposed students to the educational offerings at SAU but inspired them to think about moving forward in life. It also positions SAU as a center of innovative learning.

Guevara indicated the ERZ has already scheduled next year's Academy which will be held at SAU from June 8-11, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. An ACT prep book, morning snacks, and lunch at the Mulerider Cafe are included.

It will be open for enrollment to all regional high school students. For more information, please send Guevara an email at [email protected] or call the ERZ office at 870-235-5014. "The 2020 ACT Prep Academy is going to be even better," Guevara predicted.
