Fans of Charming Charlie will be crushed, because the famed fashion jewelry and accessories retailer is closing all its stores by the end of summer 2019.

Sadly, you read that right: All Charming Charlie stores are reported to be closing and are expected to vacate their locations by August 31, 2019.

At the time of this posting, the company's main website offers a vague "We'll be back" message. It is unclear if parent company, Charming Charlie USA Inc. will continue in the future as an online portal, or will cease operation completely. Our call seeking comment has not yet been returned.

Ark-La-Tex locations affected by the sudden closure announcement are tenants in the Shoppes at Bellemead in Shreveport and at The Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City.

The attractive, well merchandised Texarkana and Longview stores were closed in December of 2017 as part of a prior downsizing arrangement.

Founded in Houston, TX in 2004, Charming Charlie currently operates 261 locations and has 3000 employees in the United States. The product mix of most stores includes fashion clothing, footwear, accessories and costume jewelry.

We will miss Charming Charlie and hope employees of the company quickly find new jobs.

A screenshot of Charming Charlie's website Thursday said the firm will be back, but that is not a certainty.
