The TSA helped local police in North Louisiana nab a man and woman for alleged crimes.

On Saturday, July 6, 2019, Metro Narcotics agents were contacted by Monroe Police Officers working with TSA at the Monroe Regional Airport that a passenger, Portia Posey, of San Leandro, CA had attempted to board a plane with $81,890.00 in U. S. currency.

Officers were alerted to the bag carrying the currency by the presence of suspected marijuana residue.

Further investigation by Metro agents revealed Posey had allegedly flown into Monroe and delivered two suitcases of marijuana to Jerry Leon Robertson, Jr. at a residence on Longwood Drive in exchange for the currency.

Police say she was allegedly taking the currency back to California at the time of her arrest. Posey was booked into OCC on the listed charges.

A search warrant was executed at the residence where Posey allegedly delivered the marijuana.

The search allegedly yielded several large, sealed packages of marijuana and items used to distribute the marijuana to sell.

According to police, several firearms, along with a large amount of ammunition were also found. Five of the firearms were determined to have been reported stolen and two were found to have obliterated serial numbers.
