In what might be the feel-good story of the year, five dogs and a kitten from the Antlers, Oklahoma area were whisked away on a private plane to Lincoln, Nebraska by the non-profit Pilots N Paws where they will soon be adopted.

According to Duncan Aviation, four of the dogs are siblings (Bert, Ernie, Abby and Dawn). Duncan Aviation said they were found on an abandoned Oklahoma farm with a neighbor shooting at them. Another dog, Chancy, was at a shelter in Antlers, and the kitten Lexi was found clinging to the radiator of a pickup truck.

All of the animals got the star treatment arriving at a Duncan Aviation airport in Lincoln, Nebraska to a triumphant welcome. They are headed to Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue where they will all find new families soon.

We wish Bert, Ernie, Abby, Dawn, Chancy and Lexi the very best in their new lives with families who love them. If you would like to donate to Pilots N Paws, click here or go to pilotsnpaws.org.
